MLK Day

my grandpa made me go to school today.
i was all like, “there is no school. its a national holiday”
and my grandpa was all like, “not in the peoples republic of grandpa.”
next thing i know im in front of the closed school with tears in my eyes.
i thought my grandpa was just going crazy, but he explained when he picked me up (an hour late) that it was a statement.
turns out he spent all day waiting outside the dmv. and then the post office. just banging on the doors.
cause he says mlk never did nothing for him.
turns out mlk was a person.
i thought it was just the days name. like labor day.
actually mlk was on a commercial a while back.
he was making a speech about cell phones I think.
my grandpa doesnt use cell phones.
